The Baha’i World publication launches online
The website makes available a selection of thoughtful essays and long-form articles on a range of subjects of interest to the wider public, conveying advancements in Baha’i thought and action and reflecting the Faith’s purpose in the world.
The Baha’i World volumes were established under the direction of Shoghi Effendi shortly after the start of his ministry as Guardian in 1921. The first volume was released in 1926 under the title The Baha’i Yearbook, and new volumes were published until 2006. Over time, many of its original functions began to be fulfilled by official national websites and the family of sites associated with Bahai.org, including the Baha’i World News Service, as well as publications, such as The Five Year Plan, 2011–2016: Summary of Achievements and Learning and For the Betterment of the World. An archives section of the new website provides the historic first six volumes. Additional volumes and selected articles will be added over time.
